About

Clinical knowledge, attentive hands.

I hold a BTEC Level 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy and Clinical Massage, alongside a decade of practice in Usui Reiki and years of specialist training in women’s health, pregnancy and abdominal therapy.

I built this practice on one belief: that every body tells a story worth listening to. That is where every session begins, and everything else follows from there.

FAQ

Questions

Booking and home visits

What areas do you cover?

I cover South London and many areas beyond. Enter your postcode on my Fees page to see whether I travel to you, your price and any minimum session length. If your postcode isn’t there, message me and I’ll check.

How do I book and pay?

Message me on WhatsApp with your postcode, what you’d like help with and your usual availability. I usually reply within a few hours.

Payment is by bank transfer in advance. Your appointment is confirmed once payment is received and you’ve agreed to my cancellation policy.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel, reschedule or shorten a session without charge. Later than that, the full fee for the original booking normally applies. Genuine emergencies are considered individually.

Please read the full cancellation policy before confirming your appointment.

What do I need to prepare at home?

I bring the table, the oils and everything else. You’ll need a clear space of about 2 m × 3 m so I can move around the table, and a few large towels and a blanket nearby.

If there are two or more flights of stairs and no lift, let me know when you book: I will need a hand with the table.

How will I feel afterwards?

You may feel more relaxed, lighter or freer in your movement. After deeper massage work, it’s also possible to feel some tenderness for a day or two, a little like after a workout.

Give yourself some time to rest if you can, drink water as you normally would, and notice how your body responds. Let me know at your next session, as this helps me tailor the treatment to you.

Is there an age limit?

No. I’ve worked with clients from six years old to ninety, adapting the session to their age and what their body needs. Anyone under eighteen needs a parent or guardian to stay in the room for the whole session.

Can I get a receipt?

Of course. I can provide a receipt for any session, just let me know. Some employers offer wellbeing benefits that may cover massage or other treatments, so it’s worth checking what your workplace offers. Private medical insurance varies, and cover for this type of treatment isn’t always included, but you can check directly with your insurer.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, absolutely. A treatment voucher is a thoughtful way to give someone a little time for themselves. Just let me know which treatment and session length you have in mind, and I’ll arrange a voucher for you. If you’re not sure what would suit them best, I’m happy to help you decide.

Clinical massage

What’s the difference between relaxation massage and clinical massage?

Relaxation massage follows a set routine designed to help you unwind. It feels good, and that has real value.

Clinical massage, also called soft tissue therapy, is assessment-led. I look at how you move and where the tension is coming from, then choose the techniques your body needs. The aim is less pain, easier movement and fewer problems coming back.

It can still be deeply restful. Precision and ease are not opposites.

Will it hurt? How deep is the pressure?

Deep work doesn’t have to be hard. When tissue is guarded, forcing pressure makes it tighten further, so I build depth as your body allows.

Some techniques feel intense, never more than you can comfortably take. I check in throughout, and you can ask me to change the pressure at any point.

Oncology care

Can I have massage during or after cancer treatment?

In many cases, yes. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Oncology Massage and Cancer Care and I’m a member of the SATCC. Each session is adapted to your treatment, your health on the day and any advice from your medical team.

Please tell me about your diagnosis and treatment when you book. More about oncology massage.

Will massage spread the cancer?

No. Research has found no evidence that massage causes cancer to spread. The concern comes from the idea that increasing circulation could carry cancer cells around the body, but this is not how cancer spreads. Macmillan Cancer Support explains this in its guidance on massage and cancer.

What matters is how the massage is adapted to you. I adjust pressure, positioning and the areas treated according to your needs, diagnosis and treatment.

Do I need to take off my wig or headscarf?

Only if you want to. Many people keep a wig, scarf or cap on for the whole session and I work around it. Others are glad of a chance to take it off. If you’d like scalp work we can include it, and if you’d rather I stayed away from your head entirely, that’s fine too. Just tell me what you prefer.

My body has changed and I feel self-conscious.

You don’t need to feel self-conscious with me, or apologise for anything your body has been through. Whether it’s scars, reconstruction, hair loss or changes in your weight, you are welcome just as you are.

You’ll stay covered throughout the session, with only the area I’m working on uncovered. You can undress only as much as feels comfortable for you, and we’ll go at your pace.

Can you work on the area treated with radiotherapy?

Not during your course of radiotherapy, and not until the skin has fully recovered afterwards. The area is often sore and sensitive, and it needs to be left alone.

Reiki is an option in the meantime. It needs no pressure, and no contact with the skin at all, so it can be offered right through your treatment. The rest of the body can still be massaged, and I’ll ask about your treatment dates so I can plan around them.

When in my chemotherapy cycle is the best time to book?

It’s usually better to wait a few days after a treatment rather than booking the day itself or the day after. Everyone is different, though, and how you feel through a cycle varies from one person to the next. Tell me your schedule and we’ll find a point that suits you.

Can I book if I’m receiving palliative care?

Yes. Gentle touch can offer comfort, connection and a moment of rest at any stage of life. Sessions are adapted to your needs and guided entirely by what feels right for you on the day. This might be massage with light pressure, Reiki, or a combination of both. We can take things slowly, with space to pause or stop whenever you wish.

Women’s health

Can I have massage during pregnancy?

I offer pregnancy massage from 12 weeks onwards. Before 12 weeks, I offer Reiki only.

You lie on your side on the treatment table, supported by pillows. Each session is adapted to your trimester, your body and how you feel that day. More about pregnancy massage.

When can I have postnatal massage or C-section scar work?

Postnatal massage can start as soon as you feel ready. After a caesarean, from 6 weeks. Scar work can begin from 8 to 12 weeks, once the wound is fully closed and healing normally.

It’s never too late: I also work with scars months or years after birth. If you had complications, message me first and we’ll talk it through. More about postnatal care.

Reiki

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No. You don’t need to believe in Reiki or have tried it before.

Research into Reiki has explored its potential benefits for relaxation, pain and anxiety. You can read more on my Reiki page.

For me, Reiki is a spiritual practice, and many clients experience it that way too. Something often shifts during a session that is difficult to put into words. You don’t need to understand it or share my beliefs to experience Reiki in your own way.

Can Reiki be combined with a massage?

Yes. Reiki can be woven into any massage session on request, or booked as a session of its own. For a combined massage and Reiki session, I recommend a minimum of 90 minutes, with 120 minutes also available for a longer, more spacious treatment.
