The practice
What is soft tissue therapy?
Soft tissue therapy is hands-on work with muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments. I treat pain, tension and restricted movement, and I support recovery from injury and the strain of daily life.
Clinical massage and soft tissue therapy are two names for the same work.
My toolbox
Soft tissue techniques
Deep tissue, sports massage, Swedish massage, myofascial work, trigger point work, soft tissue release, positional release and scar work.
Stretching and mobility
Muscle energy techniques and Thai massage.
Lighter work
Lymphatic techniques and light-touch gliding.
Focused areas and tools
Abdominal work, face and scalp work, hand and foot work, cupping and gua sha.
Cupping and gua sha can leave temporary marks.
My approach
How I work
I’m hypermobile, and I know what it feels like to live with an aching body. My own experience of joint pain and posture is what first brought me to this work.
I look beyond the area that hurts, considering how your body moves and where tension may be coming from. When tissue is already guarded, forcing deeper pressure can make it tighten further. I work gradually and with precision, adapting depth and technique to what your body can comfortably take.
The aim is not simply to ease symptoms in the moment, but to support better movement, reduce persistent tension and help your body feel more at ease over time.
I work with people from childhood through later life, adapting my approach to each individual.
Who I see
What I can help with
Pain and tension
Persistent muscle tension, aching, restricted movement and stiff joints. Ongoing pain, including arthritis.
Desk and posture
Neck, shoulder, back or hip discomfort from prolonged sitting, desk work, screen use or driving.
Training and sport
For gym-goers, runners and athletes. Recurring niggles, muscular overload and tightness that keeps coming back with training.
Injury and recovery
Lingering tightness or sensitivity after an injury. Work with healed scars to improve comfort and movement.
Pregnancy and postnatal massage, including C-section scar work, are covered on my Women’s Health page.
Prevention and maintenance
Regular treatment to keep on top of accumulated strain, maintain comfortable movement and see you through demanding periods of work or training.
Stress and physical tension
Jaw, neck, scalp, abdomen, hands and feet. Tension headaches, restricted breathing and the physical effects of stress.

Oncology massage
Human touch, through cancer care
Level 3 Oncology Massage & Cancer Care · SATCC member

Cancer and its treatment can affect the body in many ways. Pain, fatigue, changes in sensation and reduced mobility can make everyday life more difficult, while the emotional weight of the experience can be harder to put into words.
Oncology massage offers a space for supportive, individualised care. The focus is on your comfort and wellbeing, with each session adapted to your current health, your treatment plan and how you feel on the day. Sometimes this means working with very light pressure, in a carefully chosen position, or on just a few areas. There is no need to do more than your body is ready for.
What we may focus on
- Muscle tension and stiffness
- Joint and muscle discomfort
- Changes in sensation, including neuropathy
- Reconnecting with your body through safe, considered touch
- Relaxation and a sense of ease during a demanding time
Care adapted to you
Cancer treatment can bring specific considerations, including recent surgery, healing scars, ports or lines, lymph node removal or radiotherapy, bone involvement, changes in blood counts, nausea and fatigue.
These factors can affect whether massage is appropriate, which areas can be treated, the pressure and techniques used, and how you are positioned. I take time to understand your circumstances before the session and adjust the work accordingly. Where necessary, I will seek guidance from your medical team before proceeding.
For those who would like a more integrative session, clinical massage and Reiki can be combined within a 90-minute appointment. The balance between therapeutic touch and Reiki is adapted to your comfort and needs on the day, allowing space for both physical care and rest.
